After breaking ground in September 2012, Zane State College is hosting their Grand Opening Ceremony and Celebration today of the new, first class Advanced Science and Technology Center marquee building. This new facility will support the fastest growing occupations in the fields of science, technology, engineering, medicine, and math (STEMM) with its comprehensive learning environment serving the college’s pragmatic approach to aligning education with industry.
Through our feature casework providers, Stevens Industries, Inc. & Campbell Rhea, Inc., we were able to provide compliant products contributing points towards LEED Silver certification. The new Advanced Science and Technology Center was constructed on an expedited timeline requiring quick turnaround of pricing, submittals and product delivery within tight milestones. Due to the nature of the building, close coordination was required to facilitate mechanical rough-in’s early in the construction process for the science labs. Through our work with Campbell Rhea, we were able to turn around submittals and rough-in data quickly to meet the needs of the mechanical trades and general contractor.
There are four science labs on the second floor featuring Campbell Rhea Empire Oak casework with vertical grain matched door/drawer fronts, epoxy resin tops and WaterSaver service fixtures.
Laminate casework and millwork throughout the building was provided by Stevens Industries in finishes complimentary to Zane State College colors. Custom millwork pieces accent the main entrance and solid surface sills were provided at all windows.
