The Toledo Islamic Academy decided it was time for an addition to its existing facility. Utilizing Midwest Contracting and McCoy Architects LLC, the academy sought out skilled vendors for multiple scopes of work, including educational casework and millwork. As a result, Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) received awards for the delivery and installation of casework for the new addition.
Using Stevens Advantage casework, FEC’s team of in-house installers delivered and provided multiple elevations of casework and millwork to Toledo Islamic Academy. Primarily using Looks Likatre and Ebony Recon colors for the laminate drawers and cabinets, the casework is visible in the classrooms, art rooms, principal and administrative areas, and the men’s and women’s restroom areas. The restrooms are a unique application for Stevens casework, as many projects opt for a different material than plastic laminate. In this instance, the plastic laminate casework combined with the Lava Rock-colored countertop to create a nice casework finish the restrooms. Elsewhere, the classrooms involved various casework elevations, from longer cubbies to large amounts of wall cabinets for storage. The administrative areas included portable cabinets that can be moved as desired and custom millwork for the receptionist desk areas. This custom millwork was quite large and detailed for FEC, compared to the reception desks found in other school areas. However, the FEC team delivered and installed these within a tight deadline to provide the owner with a great finished product.
This project may be smaller than others, but it is a great example of the custom millwork and casework packages available to customers through FEC and Stevens Advantage. FEC’s project management team reviewed and provided accurate elevations ensuring a smooth delivery and that the finished product matched the owner’s desire. Being able to utilize the Stevens casework and millwork options gives FEC a great advantage on owner-driven projects that require flexibility and customization.
