Talawanda School District has a vision of achieving excellence together with a mission of challenging all students to achieve their fullest potential. With the new state of the art Talawanda High School, students will have no trouble achieving excellence. The eco-friendly facility exemplifies the newest technology and security while featuring geo-thermal heating and utilizing natural light that adjusts with the movement of the sun. THS students can take advantage of the modern media center and large chemistry labs and enjoy the 147-acre outdoor science learning lab. The new high school includes a two-tiered gymnasium and an auditorium for assemblies and productions.
Farnham Equipment Company took part in the construction of this modern day high school by providing a $1.2 Million package that included Stevens Casework, Campbell Rhea Laboratories, Hussey Seating Telescopic Bleachers and Auditorium Seating, and the visually appealing 3Form throughout the building from the main entrance to the reception desks.
Talawanda HS features 70+ rooms of Stevens casework and countertops. Various standard casework designs and configurations were used for typical classrooms, life skills labs, business classrooms & art rooms. Specialized wardrobe cabinets to accommodate technology needs were utilized throughout. Farnham provided a full complement of Stevens Music Casework in the vocal and instrumental music rooms. Additionally, Farnham provided custom Stevens millwork assemblies in several administrative locations.
Talawanda HS features 15 rooms of Campbell Rhea laboratory casework. Various designs and configurations were used to create a full complement of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, General Science and Prep rooms. The laboratory casework included a complete package of Epoxy Resin Countertops, Sinks, fixtures, etc.
Talawanda HS features a uniquely designed two tiered gymnasium. For the Visitor’s side of the main competition court, Farnham furnished a (12) tier Hussey MAXAM telescoping bleachers featuring dual court/mezzanine access, a video platform & Flex-Row ADA accommodations. On the Home side, Farnham furnished Hussey’s Courtside seats mounted to concrete risers. For additional comfort and revenue generation, the center section of the Home seating feature Hussey’s Fusion chairs. The mezzanine features a (12) tier Hussey MAXAM reverse fold bleachers featuring end curtains, full back panels and delayed action operation. When not in use as seating, the reverse fold bank creates the “wall” for the auxiliary gymnasium behind.
Talawanda HS features a (566) seat performance auditorium. Farnham furnished Hussey’s Quattro Classic Series chairs with a customer specified upholstery throughout. Two partitionable sections of seating were outfitted with tablet arms to allow these sections to serve as classrooms/testing rooms, creating a multipurpose space use.
Talawanda HS features several 3Form assemblies to compliment the building’s design aesthetic. Farnham furnished 3Form assemblies on the millwork desks, on the library wall and in the main “rotunda” corridor. The unique “Woven Wall” assembly in the rotunda required a custom box assembly to be fabricated by Farnham to accommodate the radiused wall and accent lighting.
