The Miami Valley Career Technology Center is going through a major addition and renovation. This multi-year project, beginning in 2020, was designed by Garmann-Miller Architects and managed by Gilbane Company. Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) received contracts for multiple scopes of highly-technical work for this unique facility.
FEC installed Stevens Advantage Casework throughout this facility for various types of storage in classrooms, sports medicine labs, administration areas and more. The designer selected a mild Finnish Oak for the casework exteriors and a simulated Concrete finish for the countertops that fit perfectly with the various materials throughout the new building.
The science and tech labs feature Natural Finished Heritage Oak casework from Institutional Casework Inc. (ICI). Many of the labs are unique and feature multiple designs of student work areas that were customized to fit the needs of this specific educational facility.
A MAXAM telescoping bleacher from Hussey Seating Company was designed and installed by FEC in one room. This ten-row bank bleacher satisfied the need for temporary seating for students and can be closed to recover the space for other activities. Within this unique space, the need for telescopic seating allowed FEC to highlight one of its signature product lines.
Additionally, FEC provided vocational shop casework, hardwood butcher block tops, workbenches with steel tops, and athletic divider curtains. We worked with several manufacturers to provide and install these unique products for this facility.
This project is one of the largest and most complex projects FEC has been involved with for quite some time. The unique space required unique solutions, and FEC was once again up to the task. Although many different products were used in this facility, FEC’s professional in-house installation team managed this project’s multiple phases as required to fit into this multi-faceted project. This project highlights the flexibility and product expertise offered by FEC to deliver a project from start to finish.
