Project Overview
Lawrence Technological University’s Fidler gymnasium was experiencing problems with their existing bleacher system. Due to the age of the university’s bleachers, the frame wheels underneath were wearing down, causing damage to the bleachers while causing visible marks on the gymnasium floors. Upon this realization, the University reached out to FEC’s Service Solutions Consultant, David DeCan, to perform an inspection and troubleshoot the problem.
The inspection yielded other areas that required service and maintenance, which FEC worked happily with LTU to provide pricing for, namely for the outdoor bleachers. The combination of replacing the frame wheels and making other repairs set the school’s seating up for success in the future. Lawrence Technological University was pleased with everything FEC was able to offer for its facilities.
While this may be a small upgrade, it exemplifies the professionalism and promptness FEC has brought into Michigan when it comes to service, repairs and upgrades to facilities equipment.

1. Frame Wheel Replacement
This project included replacing the existing frame wheels at LTU’s Fidler gym bleachers. This is a common item that needs replaced over time, and is critical to the day-to-day operation of the bleachers. The previous frame wheels had worn out their welcome and needed to be upgraded with new.
2. Additional Repairs From Inspection Report
Recently, FEC wrote about how its quotations are customized the needs of its customers. From the inspection report, it was determined that on the outdoor grandstands, repairs and service to the guardrails was necessary. FEC provided the parts and labor to make recommended repairs to the outdoor bleachers by tightening and replacing missing hardware on the stadium seating and the entire understructure. Additionally, the repairs on the railing of the upper deck were addressed and FEC installed section covers on the walk decking.
