Bishop Watterson High School was founded in 1954, and for the last 70 years, has kept the bar high with its emphasis on faith, academics, and extra-curriculars for its student body. In 2023, it was impressed upon the school to renovate its existing theater area with new seating. As the school looked for options, they remembered multiple interactions with Farnham Equipment Company (FEC), who had assisted on an outdoor bleacher project in 2018. Working alongside CK Construction and Garmann Miller Architects, the school’s renovation project included specifying Hussey Seating Company for the theater portion of the project. Eventually, FEC was awarded the contract to deliver and install new seating for the school.
The auditorium called for 269 new seats, which FEC provided through a Quattro Classic seat with polymer arm rests and 33” seat backs for a comfortable experience for guests. To match the school colors, the seats came in a Ruby fabric and graphite plastic armrests and steel stanchions. The Quattro Classic chair provided an economical, yet professional looking chair that provides great support for those sitting through a theater performance. FEC delivered and installed these new chairs ahead of the new calendar year in 2024, allowing the school to utilize the new theater space for spring performances.
This project serves as a great example of the architectural relationships FEC has maintained for years. Our partnership with Garmann Miller has yielded great results, with this project being no different. Garmann Miller had specified a high-quality product for its auditorium seating specification, allowing FEC a great opportunity to showcase its benefits for theater seating. Coupled with the close proximity to FEC headquarters, the school saw the benefits of having a local supplier that provided a great economical solution to their school.
