Project Review

End Customer: Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools
Location: Amanda, OH
Date: Fall 2024

Project Overview

Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) and Amanda-Clearcreek Schools have worked together on several projects over the past decade.  The school has leaned on FEC’s product knowledge and insights to maintain, repair and upgrade their existing equipment, from repairing their bleachers, replacing divider curtains, adding new seats to the bleachers and more. The school has excelled at performing annual inspections, which gave FEC a thorough understanding of their facilities needs. In 2023, the school approached FEC to do cost comparisons between upgrading and repairing the bleachers in their gymnasium built in 1977 and the cost of full replacement. After several conversations and budgetary options, the school opted to work through Sourcewell to purchase brand new bleachers and new divider curtains to give the long-standing gymnasium a brand new look.

This project was made possible through ten-plus years worth of work with the district, and the trust the district had with FEC to deliver the best solutions for their equipment. Through consistent inspections, repairs and upgrades, FEC had established itself as a trusted partner to collaborate to ensure the school was making the right decisions with their equipment. The district added new divider curtains to give the ‘77 gymnasium a much needed refresh.

Key Project Features

1. Telescoping Bleachers: Hussey Seating Company

The project features new telescopic bleachers from Hussey Seating Company, delivered and installed by FEC’s installation crews.  The new seating includes:

  • (4) banks of seating, with nearly 1,500 seats for spectators
  • Auto-rotating aisle rails
  • Safety end curtains
  • Classic wood seats to complement the aesthetic of the gymnasium
  • Sure Steps by HSC for easy first step access
  • ADA flex rows for wheelchair patrons

2. Athletic Equipment: Gared Performance Sports Systems

During the initial conversations, creating a separation for practices on the two upper mezzanine decks was important to the school. As a result, FEC installed (2) divider curtains that features:

  • 86’-0″ long x 17’9 from floor to joist
  • (2) handheld wireless remotes
  • 8’-0” solid vinyl with remainder mesh
  • White Curtains

In addition to this, FEC supplied the required electrical rough ins to supply power to the curtains as for the school.
