Project Overview
Albion College was looking to replace the old, worn-out gymnasium bleachers at their Kresge Gym ahead of the 2025 summer. Built in 1925, this gymnasium is the largest in Michigan for intercollegiate sports within the state and has served the school well for the past 100 years. As the college began its search for seating solutions, the operations team crossed paths with David DeCan, the Service Solutions Consultant for Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) in Michigan. After several conversations and proposed design considerations, the school opted to work directly with FEC for both the removal of the existing bleachers and the installation of new telescopic bleachers from Hussey Seating Company. The demo and install took place throughout the beginning of 2025, including a large installation process during March 2025. The end result is a high-end bleacher project that FEC was thrilled to be able to provide in the collegiate market.
One key feature of this project that made it particularly unique is that it includes “Mitered” bleacher banks, where two sections of bleachers would converge at a joint. Rather than have the bleacher bank end, these mitered bleacher configurations allow for a continuation of seating along the corner walls of the gymnasium, providing a unique look to this gymnasium. This is a project that FEC was thrilled to participate in, and their product expertise and hard work were noted publicly by the school in their monthly newsletter.

1. Telescoping Bleachers: Hussey Seating Company
The project at Albion College Kresge Gymnasium features new telescopic bleachers from Hussey Seating Company, delivered and installed by FEC’s installation crews. This includes (4) banks of seating with features that include:
- Over 1,300 courtside seats
- Auto-rotating aisle rails
- Mitered Bleachers at Banks A/B and C/D
- Full bleed vinyl end curtains with logos
- Custom tapered aisle steps and rails
