With a budget of over $116 million, the Northeastern School District was determined to bring two new PK-12 buildings to life. The first building included partnerships between Ruetschle Architects and Touchstone Construction for design and project delivery. Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) was awarded multiple scopes of work for this large project in South Vienna, OH.
On both levels of the new building, there is a wide array of Stevens Advantage casework. As students and the community enter the building, they will notice custom millwork at the office receptionist desk. The Shaker Cherry II finish fits nicely with the other finishes throughout the building. The administrative areas also feature this Shaker Cherry finish, while the classrooms, art rooms, life skills, and music rooms employ a neutral Pewter Mesh finish that goes well within classroom settings.
In the main gymnasium, FEC installed two banks of Maxam telescopic bleachers from Hussey Seating Company. Together, they hold approx. 1,000 spectators. Both banks feature Hussey’s “1st tier flex-row seating” for ADA considerations and auto-rotating aisle rails for ease of set-up. The largest bank features a signature logo that displays “NE” in the middle of the bank. Both of these bleachers were provided with safety end curtains in red to match the bright red courtside bleacher seats. FEC installed a third, smaller bleacher bank in the auxiliary gymnasium of the new building.
The science rooms and labs feature casework provided by Institutional Casework Inc (ICI). This CampbellRhea Heritage Series white maple casework fulfills the design demands of the science department at the district. The Isolater Gen Fume Hoods allow for safe experimentation with chemicals, while the large storage cabinets will be put to good use for all the materials used within the labs.
Any K-12 project will be large in scope, and FEC’s involvement leaves a large footprint on this project. From the casework to the spectator seating, this project showcases FEC’s products and workmanship throughout the building.
