Green Local Schools in Franklin Furnace, Ohio constructed a new K-12 building ahead of the 2023/2024 school year. SHP handled the design of the new building and Geiger Brothers Construction managed the project from its inception up to the point of handing it over to the district. Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) received contract awards for multiple scopes of work for the new facility.

Throughout the entirety of the new K-12 building, Stevens Advantage casework is evident in the classrooms, art rooms, storage areas, and more. The school opted for a neutral finish of Fusion Maple with the casework, which worked well with the grey and green accents of the new building. Custom millwork was performed by FEC installers at the receptionist desks and the trim around the stairways, contrasting the darker tones around the stairs.

On the second floor, there is a science wing full of ICI/Campbell Rhea laboratory casework that FEC delivered and installed. The natural wood finish along with epoxy resin tops provide a sturdy and steady solution for the amount of wear and tear science labs usually incur. FEC also provide a fume hood and install the sink fixtures for the experiments to take place in the science wing. This particular vinish was a red oak and fits quite nicely when it comes to the aesthetic of this new area.

Heading back to the first floor, the gymnasium includes multiple scopes from FEC. Telescopic bleachers from Hussey Seating Company provide nearly 700 seats for spectators, with black courtside plastic seats, auto-rotating aisle rails and ADA flex-row spaces for wheelchair patrons. The athletic equipment including the basketball backstops and a roll-up divider curtain all came from Gared Performance Sports Systems, installed by FEC’s team.

This project was a considerable undertaking for Farnham Equipment Company. Providing multiple scopes of work meant added responsibility for our project management team to coordinate delivery, installation and any hurdles that came up during the project. The team was able to perform exceptionally, delivering a large amount of product at different times and handling the summer deadlines with care and diligence. The end product was another great example of how FEC can provide multiple products to the K-12 space.
