For the past several years, Southwest Licking Local Schools has continued to renovate, construct and revitalize its district with new school facilities. After the construction of a new elementary and high school, the district turned its attention toward the renovation of the previous Watkins High School into a middle school for students. Robertson Construction acted as the construction manager and Garmann Miller Architects designed the renovation project. Farnham Equipment Company (FEC) received awards for providing multiple scopes of work for this project.
FEC provided Advantage educational casework from Stevens Industries throughout the renovated middle school facility. Casework was installed in the classrooms, office spaces, science labs, art rooms, reception areas and media center. The casework finish selections varied throughout the building from a neutral Manitoba Maple to the more unique colors of Misty Mountains, Pearl Soapstone and Charcoal Velvet. Millwork in the reception area and media center was also provided by SII.
In the gymnasium, FEC installed two large 20-tier banks of Hussey Seating Company (HSC) Maxam telescopic bleachers. The two banks provide over 1500 Courtside seats for spectators with ADA 1st tier flex row seating, auto-rotating aisle rails for ease of operation, and safety end closure curtains.
In the auditorium, FEC installed 500+ Hussey Quattro theater chairs. The school selected a Black Marble fabric on Graphite cast aluminum standards for a fresh professional look.
This project continues to highlight the great relationship between Southwest Licking Local Schools and FEC. For the past few years, FEC has been involved in multiple projects the district has constructed. With varied scopes of work available, including casework, bleachers, athletic equipment, science lab equipment and auditorium seating, FEC has been able to provide high-quality products in a professional manner for the district’s new facilities.
