Project Name: Ansonia Athletic Complex
Owner: Ansonia Local Schools
Architect: American Buildings Company
CMR: Bruns Building & Development
Scope: Provide and Install Athletic Equipment
Completion Date: June 2020
Ansonia Local Schools designed a new preschool and athletic complex for their school district. The Athletic Complex required several additions, allowing Farnham Equipment’s services to be a viable option for what the school desired. One unique aspect of the facility was that it is a Pre-Engineered Metal Building, an increasing trend in the K-12 market.
Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) require extra coordination when it comes to overhead athletic equipment. Due to the wide spans between beams, the support structure for goals and curtains needs to be part of the PEMB design. This requires an experienced partner that can provide design solutions early in the building process well before PEMB erection.
Farnham provided and installed basketball backstops, volleyball equipment and a large divider curtain, courtesy of Performance Sports Systems.
